Welcome to SanatanaDharma.org

Hinduism has been described in many ways: as a way of life, as a set of beliefs, as a religion and many more. It is easier to say what Hinduism is not. It is not dogmatic and does not assert that there is only one set of beliefs which have to be rigidly adhered to. It is not exclusive and does not assert that only the followers of Hinduism will attain emancipation. It is not evangelistic – a Hindu does not seek to convert others to his own ways of belief and thought as a guarantee to salvation.

Debate, Discussion and Introspection have always been key planks of Hinduism. It is important to share ideas and beliefs, ask questions, analyze and challenge answers and spend time in self introspection. By inquiry both with others and within oneself and by Divine Grace one arrives at the Supreme Truth.

The purpose of the SanatanaDharma.org website is to provide an open platform for debates and discussions on Hinduism with emphasis on sincerity, respect for others and genuine enquiry. We welcome all who wish to share their thoughts and pose questions and clear doubts on different aspects of Hindu belief, faith, customs, traditions and practices. Members of this site who participate in discussions and provide answers and clarifications will not and should not claim that what they say is authoritative beyond dispute; nevertheless we expect that what our members contribute is based on their own convictions and understanding from knowledge gained and offered on a ‘good faith’ basis.

AUM May that Supreme Reality protect us!
May that Supreme Reality nourish us!
May we work together with great energy!
May our intellect be sharpened and our studies effective!
May there be no disagreements or animosity between us!
OM PEACE! PEACE! PEACE!

By Seeker

I am a seeker after Truth. Truth has many dimensions. Some of these dimensions appear contradictory but in God all these contradictions stand resolved. He who seeks Truth arrives at the feet of God. And reaching there his quest ends. God is the Reality beyond which there is nothing more to be sought or attained.
